The Life of an entertainer

Have you ever imagined what it might feel like to be an entertainer? To be away from your family and friends? To constantly travel from city to city performing for the crowds, pleasing the people? Goodness, no wonder Britney Spears is in rehab. No wonder many entertainers resort to drugs and alcohol. I personally don' feel like I could stand the pressure myself. The exhausation, the speculation, the extreme lifestyle associated by being an entertainer would probably break me down. There are a few songs that I feel convey the lifestyle of an entertainer, which are associated by distance, rumors and the celebration of fame itself.

I really enjoy Michael Buble's new song Home because it gives the listener insight on what its like to be an entertainer and to be away from your home, family and your friends. I mean..consider having a long lasting marriage and being an entertainer? Is the constant demand of work and travel the reason why many people in Hollywood dont have lasting relationships? Who knows. But this song is a great one. Its very passionate and very emotional.

Another song that helps to depict the lifestyle of an entertainer is Lindsey Lohan's song Rumors. It's unfortunate that the celebrity world is based on a lot of rumors and speculation but when you are in the media's eye, anything can be said about you.

On the flip side of things, the life of an entertainer is in many ways I'm sure very glamorous, exciting and rewarding. As we have seen on American Idol or The Search for the Next Doll, the new reality show featuring the Pussy Cat Dolls as well as other shows, we as viewers are in awe of the possibilites of being that ultimate winner. Kelly Clarkson sings passionately in the song A Moment Like This as she shows us her excitement about becoming the winner of American Idol. Despite the potential scandal that she may endure, despite the distance between family and friends, she knows that fame will forever change her life.

I love entertainment news/topics! So of course your blog is very interesting to me. Although I kind of disagree with you on the whole feeling-sorry-for-celebrities thing. While I appreciate that stardom brings with it a lot of pressure, these people chose this life for themselves. Although I do feel sorry for Britney Spears since it really does seem like she's completely lost control.

Your post was very user friendly and had plenty of video content, which I liked. For next time, maybe you could find some kind of video interview. Not that I don't like all the music videos.

You had me hooked when I saw the picture of Kiefer Sutherland as I am a huge fanatic of 24.

I like how you incorporated the videos.

My take on that is it probably wears on you as a person to have someone watching your every single move. I have had the privilege to be in some sports locker rooms and just on their way to dress, people are screaming.

I have stood outside before waiting for wrestlers from the WWE to come out after the show and people are freaks...really.

Anything to ease the pain I guess.

that home song was pretty sad. maybe not sad, but he sounded sad singing it. i never thought about how much these celebrities have to travel, making relationships (and being parents) almost impossible. fame does come with a huge cost.

and then there's paris. why is she even famous? she's famous for partying? for being rich? she can't act (unless it's behind a night-vision lens), she can't sing (her album is totally synthetic), she has no talent. yet she seems to thrive off the paparazzi. always giving them ridiculous quotes and posing and what not. would you feel bad for her? i sure don't.

I'd love to be an entertainer. It's a great way to stay misogynistic and aimless. Wait, wasn't that a MC Paul Barman lyric? Yeah, I believe it was.

I really enjoyed your use of videos, especially the Micheal Buble song, which I love.

I don't really agree with you on about feeling sorry for the entertainers. I'm sure they have a lot of problems, but so does everyone else. And they have about a million more positives in their life than most. this song kind of says it better than me.
